I think I've mentioned quite a few times that I'm a naturally curious person with a rather insatiable appetite for the knowledge. So out of pure curiosity, I clicked on the LYRIKS icon.
For those who didn't notice, this icon exists at the bottom right corner of the eGen main page.
I read through the site and its information before coming across a Eligibility Screening Tool. Once again out of curiosity I went ahead and did the test as honestly as possible. My results? This was what was stated at the end of the test
Thank you for taking the time to complete the questionnaire! Your responses suggest that you have been experiencing signs and symptoms of At-Risk Mental State (ARMS). We would like to invite you to share your experiences with LYRIKS as a research participant! Kindly contact us for more information on how to participate in LYRIKS.
I was genuinely surprised. Never would I have thought that I showed such signs. I always thought I was just too used to being on my own and generally hated social interaction. Such people exist and they're mentally fine, aren't they?
Just to explore a little further, I clicked on the "contact us" link and another list of signs & symptoms of emotional difficulties showed up on the Eligibility page.
Out of a list of 10, 4 of them (3, 4, 5 & 7) actually described how I felt in everyday life. Needless to say I was rather shocked.
Now I could just treat all these as some random things that I just happened to come across and just ignore them. I mean, my parents definitely would't be happy to hear such news. That being said, I am 21 and able to more or less support myself now so if I really wanted to, I could go ahead and register myself for this LYRIKS thing.
What do you guys think? Anyone have a clearer understanding of what LYRIKS is and what it does?
I never really knew I had such signs. I have always thought I was just being anti-social. I wanted to prove to myself that I can survive on my own and all that matters is what I can achieve in this lifetime. I guess facing past relationship issues has had more impact on me than I thought. Hahaha. What a joke.

from the site i can gather this "Research participants are reimbursed for each completed research assessment to cover travelling/inconvenience costs incurred upon participation."...hehe
should be done at imh's facilities and there are 4 components to it...clinical assessment, neurological component, blood drawing(optional) and brain scan (optional)..
seems like long drawn thing, but i guess they wanna be detailed about it. so it cld give u a better understanding of urself i'm guessing =)
